When I first pitched the idea of championing the MumpreneurUK cause in Build British Business and The Formations Company, it was met with a preemptive judgment that it was because I myself was a mum of 3. And a serial entrepreneur (and part-time Ninja). My team in TFC soon had a quick change of heart when the reality of the matter is this: of about 620k female-led businesses, about 300k are mothers in business or “Mumpreneurs” in the UK. Becoming the sponsor of MumpreneurUK’s 2013 Inspirational Business Mum Award was not only a great idea for the business, being part of this empowering entity by any measure is tremendously rewarding. I love championing people with fabulous ideas, and MumpreneurUK is full of them.

I’m also particularly fond of a recent blog I wrote about the beautiful Lisa Suswain, Managing Director of Wagging Tails (and inspirational Mumpreneur), whose Tipping Point was being unable to dance for the Royal Ballet anymore, only to be 2013 winner of Best Franchise Marketing Support in the Franchise Marketing Awards.
